COURTHOUSE NEWSCasino Planned for Jamul, CA, Faces Challenges

CALTRANS: The lawsuit is a completely separate challenge unrelated to the CalTrans study on impacts on traffic safety SR-94.  CalTrans MUST complete the study by law, simply because the Tribe has given itself permission to build the casino.  (Yes… this sounds crazy, but it’s true.)
So far CalTrans has NOT considered the impacts on the intersections at Otay Lakes Rd (blind left turn onto SR-94), or Honey Springs.  Nor has it addressed the safety impacts of delaying emergency responders and wildfire evacuations.  Their  ”project alternatives” are very sketchy and confusing.  You can see the CalTrans charts, photo, fatal crash sites, with JAC comments here:

Neighbor Joe Jeffers sent this information to pass along (This is a scheduled maintenance project not related to the casino):

“I just talked to a representative of CTI who will be resurfacing Hwy 94 from Rancho San Diego to Marron Valley road starting Oct 14 and taking about a month to complete. They will deliver asphalt groundings to anyone who may want to cover their dirt road or driveway. The contact is Bree at 714 720-8289.”
