August 12, 2012 (Julian ) – A brush fire southeast of Julian has burned 30 acres and is spreading at a moderate rate, according to Battalion Chief Nick Schuler with Cal Fire. No structures are currently threatened. View a map:

Today, 635 lightning strikes hit San Diego County during today’s thunderstorms in the mountain and desert areas.

Additional resources are being prepositioned in San Diego County should addition fires surface as a result of the numerous lightning strikes.
