RED FLAG WARNING*
THURSDAY – SATURDAY
1:40 PM – From the NWS:
“The National Weather Service in San Diego has issued a RED FLAG WARNING for strong gusty winds and low humidities.”
“Locally strong and gusty northeast to east winds Thursday evening through early Saturday afternoon. Winds will increase Thursday evening and remain strong through Friday…gradually weakening Saturday and Sunday.”
“Very dry conditions will continue through the weekend.”
Winds will be strongest late Thursday night through Friday morning with isolated gusts in excess of 65 mph possible in the favored locations. Warm and very dry conditions coupled with strong winds will increase the wildland fire danger Thursday evening and Friday.”
“*A RED FLAG WARNING means that critical fire weather conditions are either occurring now…or will shortly. A combination of strong winds…low relative humidity…and warm temperatures will create explosive fire growth potential.”
