Thank you to all who signed the petition and/or wrote Supervisor Jacob about the proposal before the Board of Supervisors to eliminate all 26 local planning groups (and voices) under the guise of “red tape reduction.”
Supervisors Jacob, Slater, and Cox all indicated their continuing support of planning groups, calling for better formal training requirements on environmental laws, the County General Plan and the Brown Act. From the Union Tribune 3/1/12:

“A majority of county supervisors on Wednesday signaled support for maintaining community planning groups in some form or another, after supporters charged that an effort to cut red tape would effectively muzzle the voices of the citizen panels.”

2/10 Holla appeared in owl nesting box.
2/17 1st egg sighting.
2/19 2nd egg laid. It seems Holla enjoys the music being played in the Garden.
2/20 3rd egg laid.
2/23 4th egg laid.
2/24 5th egg laid today!
2/25 Holla spent most of the day resting. We will begin our live streaming this week.
2/26 Holla spent most of the day preening and getting comfortable sitting on all those eggs!
2/27 It was a rainy day and Holla was a good mommy, keeping those eggs warm.
2/28 Hoot was busy last night! He brought Holla 3 goodies.
2/29 Today Holla stretched her legs a little and turned the eggs a few times. She enjoyed the visit from the kids from Sunny Slope Elementary School.

*Barn owls mate for life and return to the same nest every year.
